Capsicum – Onion Poha (Aval)

Hey All,

This is for Crunchy Capsicum + Poha lovers!

it’s so easy to cook and if you try it ->it will be your all time favorite.

Secret Ingredient:

Poha 2 cups, 1 big capsicum, 1 big onion, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp black urad dal, 2 green chilies, salt to taste, hing, curry leaves, oil for tempering, Coriander leaves for garnishing.

Pre-cooking measures:

1) Wash the Poha, drain the water and add some salt and cover it with lid for 5 minutes.(Flattened poha will absorb the moisture)


2)Cut the veggies and keep it READY TO SAUTE!




1)Add oil (coconut) in heavy bottomed pan with mustard + urad dal +green chili +curry leaves + hing wait till it splutters.


2) Add onion + capsicum + salt and saute till the crunchiness you need.


3)Add the soaked and drained poha to the above and saute it.


Try it out with:

Curd and pickle are the best side dish. Also try it out with this Thenga Thogayal (Coconut paste)
